Chef Rafael Alamo
Executive Chef of Workshop by Alacena at La Marina Puerto del Rey in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and creator of "La Crisis 100x35" Born in Bayamon, PR
He began his career around 2008 at the Botin restaurant in Old San Juan, then in 2009 he was recruited by La Concha Resort where he served as "Chef d'Partie" for several years.
In 2012 he accepted the challenge of being in charge of a French bistro located in Dorado, PR. "L 'Ami du Bistro" where he stayed in front of the restaurant for two years.
2014 he returns to Old San Juan to be the Executive Sous Chef at the historic hotel "El Convento" under the command of Chef Luis Castillo where together they dedicatedly worked on the "Farm To Table" concept.
During the years 2014-2016 he manages to complete several internships and achievements among them: 1919 restaurant in Vanderbilt hotel(PR)..
(Battersby, Martha, Dover and Gramercy Tavern), in New York City, including a Michelin star among them.
In 2016 he was part of the Puerto Rican culinary team competing in the "Taste of the Caribbean" event where he excelled in individual and team events obtaining several gold and silver medals.
2017 he is recruited by the company "Catalina Island Company" in Avalon, California to be the Restaurant Chef of the signature restaurant "Avalon Grille"
After several years in California from Avalon to Los Angeles in 2020 he moves directly to Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, Mexico to front the great Sunset Monalisa.

In 2021 he decides to return to his home Puerto Rico for the opening of Work Shop by Alacena located in the Marina Puerto del Rey in Fajardo,
Chef Rafael is inspired by the local ingredients of the island, using techniques and trends from different places.
